The Bengal cat is a breed begotten  by crossing an Asian Leopard cat with  the ordinary cat. Such cross-breeding desire emanates from wanting to make a domestic cat that looks like a wild feline but has the temperament of a regular cat. Bengal cats are intelligent

Bengal cats are considered one of the most intelligent cat breeds. Some can figure out how to open and close doors and can even switch lights on and off. They require apt intellectual stimulation, after which they respond very well to their masters.

The Love for Water

Water is part of  things many cats dislike the most, Bengal cats are the entire opposite. Their love of playing in water is one of the things that are very common with Bengals . The most distinct spec of the Bengal cat is the very thick, soft, and distinctively patterned coat. There are 2 distinct patterns recognized within the Bengal cat breed, which are marbleized and spotted.

The spotted or rossetted  coat is quite close to its leopard ancestor, featuring leopard dots in varying shades of sand, rust, brown, orange, gray and black. The marble coat is fashioned from the mixing of the Asian Leopard cat with a local tabby to make splotches that look more like marbles.

Whichever look it is, the Bengal cat is both amazingly wild and gorgeous. Exept for the coat, another distinguishing feature that sets it apart from other cats is its muscle body, more eminent in males than females. Bengal cats are very muscular, sleek and athletic.

Temperament

The Bengal cat enjoys interacting and playing. This does not mean they will not seek out a soft lap or chair  to lie for a nap, but for the majority of the day, they are very energetic cats. Earing to their ancestry,  they are not meant for someone seeking a docile animal to lounge around the house and look cute.

The striking heritage of this cat renders it special as Bengal cat. Although it takes 5 generations of Bengal-to-Bengal breeding to produce a line recognized as a Bengal cat, these felines have a wild family heritage and some of those instincts can still be seen  in late generations through their innate curiosity ,high energy, and extreme intelligence.
